Goobers, Getaways and Gelt...

Wow - I have really been remiss in doing my updates lately. I guess all it says to me is that we have been a little busy lately...ok - so here's the recap for the past 2 months:

Most of October was a sick month for the family. Ari, Lavi and I got a stomach bug which had ripped its way through the Gan. And the just a few days later both Lavi and Noam got the swine flu which was no fun at all. Ari was vaccinated for that - so he didn't get it (phew) - but he had his own share of ear infections, sore throats and colds. Somehow I managed to escape the flu - I was prescribed Tamiflu which I guess prevented the flu but made me SOOO loopy. At work I felt like my head was stuck in the clouds - not so great. But thankfully - we got through it all - just in time for me to leave Lavi for 8 days with the kids.

So yes - I took my first trip away from my family - and went to Simon and Ahuvi's wedding in Israel. It was wonderful to be in Israel. My parent, sister, brother and Natalie were there, with Tessa, Errol, Annie, Sam, David, Lewis, Adam, David, Gillian, Simon, Ahuvi - and the list goes on...So it was really nice to be with everyone but I did miss all my boys greatly. We chatted every day - and even video conferenced which Ari got a kick out of (he was enthralled with himself doing silly things on the computer). While I was away Noam began saying his name clearly. He moved from 'Nona' to 'Noam' and just began spouting out all new words so fast. So I came home to a real talking boy which was very exciting. Ari missed me a bit and Lavi did a wonderful 'Countdown for Mommy' chart with him while I was away. It is a beautiful chart - and I will cherish it always. Lavi did a great job with the boys (with help from his mother) and they seemed to run a smooth ship without me. I returned from Israel and Lavi hopped on a jet for a well-deserved break to Las Vegas. He spent the weekend with Kfir and they saw a Metallica show - which is always an exciting event in my house. By the time he returned - we just sighed a big 'aah' as we sort of slid back into 'normal'.

Just in time for Chanukah (which is proving to definitely not be the 'norm')!
