5 years and counting...

Today is our five year wedding anniversary. I think five years is the 'paper' anniversary. I told Lavi that he should have bought me a special pack of origami :) Suellyn came over to babysit and we actually got a night out to celebrate. We went to a new fish restaurant in Stamford which was really nice and we even saw a movie - woohoo! The rest of our days have been spent house hunting.

Ari started camp last week. He is two days at the JCC and two days at the Gan. He seems to love both which is great - except that one of them left him with a little present of the coxackie virus this weekend. So that wasn't fun - but we got through it ok.

Noam is doing wonderfully. He is growing and starting to turn from newborn to infant. He has a great smile and is pudging up a bit too. He has beautiful big eyes and has been making great eye contact. He is starting to notice some mirrors in his swing and bouncy chair - they have kept him occupied for about 10 seconds :) Overall - he is a very content baby and is a pleasure!

We are looking forward to our Cape Cod vacation this week. We will be heading up to Chatham on Saturday and staying for a week. More news to come on that trip!

It's Getting Hot in Here...

Today is the third day of the first summer heat wave - and they say it is going to continue. Noam and I are staying indoors (for once) and trying to take care of this and that around the house. This weekend - on top of house hunting - we spent most of the time at the pool. Ari is learning to swim - and is feeling more comfortable each day in the water. Lavi takes him to the pool everyday. Yesterday - we joined my sister's family at my parent's neighborhood pool. Ari just took a look at Marigold, who has absolutely no fear, jumping into the water and said that he needed to do it too. By the end of the day - he was taking huge leaps into the water. He kicks his legs and moves his arms and even blows a few bubbles. We wish we could buy a house with a sprawling pool - we love it so much - but I don't think it will happen this round...

1 Month Already!

So - Noam Ben-Zvi is one month old today - and oh boy, has he had a busy life so far! Noam is smiling these days - and although still quite sleepy - is very alert in the moments that he is awake. He holds his head up really well and looks around with these huge eyes that I am sure are going to be blue (although Lavi says green). He is soaking up the world around him - and we are all madly in love with our new family member. Ari can't get enough kisses and hugs and loves to hold Noam when he gets a chance. Ari has adapted well to being a big brother - and is growing up in leaps and bounds as well. He now makes very good conversations - and we are just scrambling to keep up with him. He is also quite demanding in his own 2-year old way - and we are trying to keep up with that as well. It is a little tough - but we are laying down more rules in our household these days.

In other news - we have been house hunting since we sold our townhouse last week. We may have found something we like and are heading down the negotiating path - but who knows how long that will take...while that goes on - we are continuing to look for the right house. Noam and I are out and about all the time - what ever happened to staying indoors with a newborn (and getting some rest)???
