The Days of Yore...

Yesterday we just had a great time reminiscing at the Arlin's house. It was so nice to be all together. And then Ari saw the canoe. He told me that he was only allowed to go in SAFE boats. And then Ari wanted to go in the canoe. And having never been in a canoe before - I wondered if he would be nervous at all. But definitely not! He happily jumped in and helped his dad row all around the pond. It was really lovely - and made me remember all the days skating and rowing on the pond - plus all my rowing / camping trips at Massad. Need to figure out a way to start infusing all of that good stuff into my boys life. But today was a good start! Thanks Ann & Sara - we loved it!

Mid-Summer 2009

Summer 2009 so far has been pretty normal for us (you can't beat normal). Lavi has been home from school - which has been wonderful for us all. His stress levels have decreased dramatically and he has been knocking tasks off his summer list everyday. Noam has been loving spending so much time with Lavi. You can tell that they have developed a special bond these days. Ari is spending 3 days a week at the Gan Summer Camp - and he has been loving it. I think his friendships are definitely growing over there - and I am so pleased that he is comfortable and enjoys going to the Gan each day. We have been taking advantage of our new backyard and spending LOTS of time outside running around and playing with all of our toys. Our backyard makes a huge difference to us and really highlights for us why we bought the home that we did. It has been great and we have been hosting some dinner parties here and there to try and see people and keep up with our friends. We have also been trying to use the pool at my parents house often. Both boys love the water - and hopefully we can eek out more beautiful days this summer (since June was a bomb). I look forward to the rest of the summer and just relaxing with friends and family. Come on over and hang out with us!

A Walking Boy!

Noam officially is a walker as of today. This morning my mom asked me - 'is Noam walking yet'. I said 'not yet - but he did sneak in one step today...so maybe soon'. Sooner came quicker than I thought because by the afternoon he had taken about 10 steps in a row and was practicing often. So - I now can say that he is officially walking! Watch out for Noam - here he comes!

As far as talking - he isn't doing too much of that these days - other than his favorite Noam babble which we have grown to love. He is quite vocal but no real words consistently yet. I bet once he has mastered the walking, some words will start to come. It's a bit much to try too many skills at once, ya know...
