A Maze of Hay

As expected for parents of an 18 month old - we did the pumpkin patch and apple picking this weekend. It was a gorgeous day and we had a great time exploring coastal CT. We took a trip to Bishop's Orchards - Ari loved the Hay Maze and the Pumpkin Patch. He actually picked up a few pumpkins! so he seems to like flexing his muscles. It was a lot of fun just to walk around and be in the fresh air. We are so excited for Fall. It is just my favorite season - and hopefully this year it will feel like it sticks around, cuz normally before you know it - it seems like it is snowing already. Mmmm - I can smell the chestnuts already :)

Ari - Almost 18 Months

We hope everyone had a good fast over Yom Kippur. Ours was quiet. Lavi went to shul again without me (can you believe it?). I couldn't take Ari again and just sit in babysitting, so I joined my parents for Kol Nidre on Friday night and that was it for me. But I did host the break fast - Jill Anto & Ben joined with Adam and Lindsey, plus Dave and Natalie and Mom & Dad too. It was nice to have everyone over! The meal was pretty easy to manage.

On Sunday we just vegged out, or tried to - until Lavi banged his head into the corner of the wall accidentally and I had to take him to the Immediate Care center. Ouch! He didn't get stitches but rather a medical adhesive that holds the cut together. I thought maybe I would send in Lavi's pic to apply as an extra in that new zombie movie coming out for Halloween - the gash makes my legs quiver. He bought himself a new hat - he didn't want to scare the kids at school.

Across the River

On Saturday we went to visit Kate & Nick at their new digs in Hoboken. It was such a beautiful day and Hoboken looked really pretty. Their apartment was great - and Kate looks like she is enjoying her pregnancy now. Amy & Peter brought over Alex and we got to meet her for the first time - what a cute & happy baby :) We all headed down to the park - basically to give Ari some room to play and get some energy out before the long ride home. It was a lot of fun and we are excited for the DeCock's and the changes that are coming their way. Thanks for brunch! And thanks for the cup too :)

Shana Tova!

A Happy New Year to everyone. This year we celebrated with all the family. It was really nice as the Warmunds came down for Rosh Hashanah - so the whole crew was at the Goldberg house on Wednesday night. Unfortunately - I had a cold like I haven't had a cold in a while. So that was too bad - but I still made it over for the festivities. Ari just LOVES being with his cousins. He thinks they are just the best. Thursday we again tried out Beth El in Stamford. Basically - Lavi was helping most of the time with the kids service so I was with Ari. He lasted for about 5 minutes in the service and then we had to retreat to the babysitting - which was rather chaotic and i decided that he couldn't be left alone. How do people with babies go to shul?? Jilly hosted a really nice lunch on Thursday as well. On Friday - I took myself to Young Israel and enjoyed some peaceful time on my own in the service.


Mom & Dad bought a great new toy for all the kids - it is sort of a new wave skateboard. Ari had so much fun playing with his cousins on it on Friday afternoon. He loves to push vehicles around - and I have to say that he is a pretty strong little thing. Hopefully we'll get some pictures soon from that - it was just a lot of fun.

Labor Day Weekend

Happy Labor Day weekend everyone. It's really nice to enjoy some time off...we're not doing much but just hanging around the joint - but the weather has been beautiful! So - this past week Lavi returned to work. And Ari and I are adjusting to the new schedule. Ari is back at daycare full time. He likes it there so that hasn't been an issue - but I think that the first week of full-time will feel really long!

Last night we went to a wonderful engagement party for Josh & Blair. We're looking forward to the wedding (a little bit of a wait) but I think it will be in St. Thomas next November so that should be fun! Ari was awake during the party and did quite well for staying up until 11pm. It was a gorgeous night - the food was great- and the house looked beautiful. Blair and Josh seem really happy - and we are thrilled for them! This morning we met up with Granny & Grandpa for breakfast in Rowayton - which is also so pretty. Food was good - and the scenery was even better. Ari and Grandpa enjoyed strolling by the boats in the water. We then headed over to Pear Tree Beach and played in the sand a little. Ari is fearless and he loves the sand and water. Then came a nice long afternoon nap - which we all enjoyed! I think we will see Suellyn tomorrow who is just returning from her first trip out to CA.
