In sickness and health...

Since our return from Israel - the weather has been brutal. It has been an unforgiving winter so far - and along with that has come the cold and flu season. Unfortunately, both Ari and Noam have had their fair share so far and I am just hoping it is over. Last week Noam had a fever of 104.4. Luckily, it didn't turn out to be much. But then Ari's bout of illness came, and it was hardcore. Ari contracted the stomach flu somehow and had a hard time shaking it. It lasted 6 days! Poor little guy now needs to pack on the pounds again...But a positive out of all of it is that he is doing quite well with the potty training - so that is a plus.

Ari's favorite things these days are MONSTER trucks and Lighting McQueen. He can't seem to get enough of either. He also enjoys Thomas and his trains - but clearly not his favorite. He loves to watch me cook and bake which I have been doing a little more of these days. Now that Noam is a little bigger - he can be left to his own a bit more and he is content. Ari is starting to go to a bunch of birthday parties - I guess kids have them now when they are turning 3 - so that has been fun for all. He talks about his birthday a lot and the plans he is making.

Noam is progressing a lot these days. He now fully sleeps through the night - he has done that since the start of 2009 so that is a huge help. He also has 3 teeth and the fourth is pushing it's way through. He crawls so fast and can now go up the stairs. He even went down successfully once and we were proud - but we are working on that to make sure he really knows how. We have lots of stairs in our house. The other day I let go of Noam while he was standing and he stood on his own for a pretty long moment. So we gave him a round of applause for that. He is strong - and practices standing and sitting all the time. It's very cute to watch him be so determined. He is stubborn too - a little bit of a picky eater - and when he doesn't like something he just refuses to open his mouth, and he has a little sly grin while he does that. He loves singing, and we are also working on clapping hands and waving.

Ari & Noam are really good buddies. Ari just loves Noam - and respects the fact that he is a baby and smaller than him. He thinks he is cute and has fun smiling and laughing with him. Noam thinks Ari is just the best! I asked Ari if he wanted to share a room with Noam and he told me that was a great idea. Eventually I think we will put them together.
