It looks like my posts are spacing out to be about monthly. I am trying - but life is just plain old busy. And it is still cold. We had a big nor'easter yesterday and Lavi dug us out by mid-afternoon. Now the temperature is freezing and it looks like it will last. Yuck!
But we are weathering the storm with anticipation of good weather. Ari has started swimming lessons. He is in the 'Almost ready' group at the JCC and doing really well. He swims with Lavi and Noam and I are in the cheering section. It's good to just get out and do some activity - so we are happy we signed up for this - and he seems to like it. The Purim Carnival was also on Sunday after swimming so we dropped in for a quick look around. Ari is also doing a pretty good job with potty training. Lavi painted a great incentive sticker poster and that has been fun. We're obviously not doing the 'I trained my kid in a week' training - we seem to be on an extended plan - but Ari feels good about it and it is going well so far.
Noam is standing on his own these days. He doesn't even know he is doing it - but he has good balance and can stand for a while. He also can take a few steps while holding on to things. He'll cruise a bit on the couch or with his walker toy. So - not moving too quickly yet - but he is really stable and I see the next stage of motion coming quite quickly. Noam has 4 teeth and loves to use them :) We've expanded his diet to now include yogurt and some cheese, avocado, pasta and breakfast bar. Yummy stuff. Although I have noticed that he is not as big a fan of food as his brother was at this stage. Noam stubbornly closes his lips and will not crack them open for anything once he decides that he has had enough. Ari was a bit more adventurous with food. I think it may be time to bring out the corned beef and pastrami sandwiches. I bet he loves those!
