Reds or Blacks?

We just returned from a week's vacation on the Jersey Shore. We ended up staying in Atlantic City. The weather was HOT! Kinda humid, kinda hot, kinda rainy here and there. But some of the days were beautiful too! Atlantic City is an interesting place. Not one I would really recommend for kids - but we made the best of it. The Boardwalk was right outside of our hotel - we walked up and down quite a bit. We were staying right near the Taj Mahal - so it ended up being our casino of choice for the buffet meal, the candy options, the little bit of gambling that we did (separately of course), and a few of our nicer meals. We were also right across from Steel Pier - so this was Ari's first time on amusement park rides. He had a great time - and we did it in grander style at Storybook Land on one of the days. Storybook Land was just perfect for our age kids - and ARI just LOVED Bubbles the roller coaster - he went on it about 6 times switching off between me and Lavi. He also loved the train and the buggy ride and the MONSTER TRUCKS of course. It's an easy park to navigate and cover in one morning. The kids had a blast. We also discovered the Margate and Ventnor beaches which are just south of AC. Margate was just great - and we ended up there practically every day - finding good spots in front of Lucy the Elephant. We ate most of our meals at the Greenhouse which is right next door. The beach was pretty and relaxing and the water and waves were just beautiful! Manda came down for 1 day with the girls - which gave Ari a thrill. It's an easy trip for them from Philly - so that worked out really nicely. Another perk of staying in AC was the outlets, so we got in a bit of outlet shopping on an overcast day which was fun. Overall - minus the traffic and humidity, the trip was great and a good break by the end (once we got in our groove). But you can't beat the beach, sandcastles and waves on a nice day - and we ended our week well with that!
