Bonna Serra :(

On Friday the 29th, which happened to be our 4 year anniversary, we left Pienza and moved on to Camaiore, which is right on the foothills of the Apuane Alps mountain range (containing the famous marble quarries of Carrara), & is near the beaches of Versilia. We stayed in the quirkiest apartment (which I personally loved). Villa La Bianca was so pretty and had a very nice pool and large grassy area for Ari to run around. The restaurant on the premises was wonderful and Lavi and I ate there frequently since it was on-site and we could manage with Ari's sleep schedule. While in the Versilia region we explored Lido de Camaiore, which is the beachfront town, Forte Dei Marmi (the Italian "Hamptons"), Cinque Terre and the medieval city of Lucca. We spent one day at the beach - rented a lovely cabana and just relaxed amongst the Italian vacationers on the smooth (& real) sandy beach. The Mediterranean was warm and beautiful and packed with people on holiday. In Forte dei Marmi we just had lunch since we went there on a Sunday and all the shops are closed. We spent one day hiking in Cinque Terre. Lavi and I managed to cover 4 out of the 5 towns - but only did 2 of the easier hikes with Ari (local train for the rest). Lauren and Adam continued on to a further more difficult hike and we met up with them again later in the evening. It was beautiful and the weather was perfect for hiking. Lavi and I enjoyed a meal of fresh anchovies & calamari from the region which was quite yummy. Our last excursion for the trip was to the walled city of Lucca which has been described as a miniature Florence. It was fun to explore the shops and walk all around. This day was also Adam's birthday - HAPPY BIRTHDAY Adam!
